Michael was very fun to track down. Roth and I went to high school together where we were very close friends that played on every sports team together. We won championships growing up and then won them in college! We also played with Scott Wingo, Kyle Enders and Alex Burrell back in those days. On top of this, I played in high school with former USC players, Andrew Crisp, Adam Crisp, Alex Farotto and Brad Hawking,
We tracked Michael down in Reno where he was playing against Christian Walker in a AAA game. Roth has since been traded to the Texas Rangers' AAA affiliate team for the 2018 season. Michael has pitched in over 20 major league games with 2 recorded Wins. His stories about college and his rise and time in professional ball will have Gamecocks fans very excited.
Roth will go down as one of the greatest ever to pitch at USC, and since, he has had real success playing professionally, earning a minor league all-star nod, among other awards.
He recently married a USC cheerleader, Rachel, and they have started a beautiful life together!
